APPLICATION PROCEDURE

When applying to the IMPRS LSHO, please use our online application system. You will need to follow a multistep process that is described below.

Registration

Please go to our job advertisement“PhD Student Positions in Human Origins (International Max Planck Research School)” - link will be provided in due time   - and click at it. Then, please click at "We look forward to receiving your completed online application". Please register with the Career Portal of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. IMPORTANT: You do not need to upload any documents at this point. You will receive an email confirming your registration and informing you about the next step.

In this second step you will need to register to "The Leipzig School of Human Origins" online application system by entering the registration website (link will be provided by email after you have finished the first step above) where you will be asked to enter your name and some basic data. Once you have submitted your registration form you will receive another email confirmation. The email includes your personal registration code which is required for carrying out several steps throughout the application process. Please allow up to 30 minutes to receive the confirmation email.

Application

Once you have received your registration code, you are ready to continue the application process. Please enter our online application form (link will be provided in due time) and enter all required information. We recommend that you collect and prepare all necessary information before starting the application process. Once you have started the process, you will have to continue it until the end as it is not possible to save your data in between. Please do not forget to upload the following documents: a) Curriculum Vitae (CV) and statement of purpose (appr. 500 words), b) transcripts and degree documents, c) other documents that you consider important within the context of your application. After submitting the data, you will once again receive an email confirmation. Please allow up to 30 minutes to receive this email.

Recommendation Letters

We ask for at least two recommendation letters. Please send the follwing data to two referees of your choice: a) Your registration code, b) the link to the online recommendation form (link will be provided in due time) which opens a page where your referees can upload their recommendation letter. You and the referee will both receive an email confirming the successful upload of the recommendation letter.

After these four steps, your application is complete.
