Good Scientific Practice
Scientific honesty and the observance of the principles of good scientific practice are essential in all scientific work which seeks to expand our knowledge and which is intended to earn respect from the public. (Rules of Good Scientific Practice, Max Planck Society)
Cases of scientific misonduct are manifold. Scientific misconduct may occur when dealing with data and during the publishing process, it may concern supervision or academic cooperations, it may be the result of conflicts of interest or the inappropriate dealing with conflicts. If you observe or experience any case of scientific misconduct or if you are in doubt, please approach the elected Ombudsperson and Vice Ombudsperson of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology.
